APPTV IS...
Appalachian State University's student-staffed television channel that operates out of Boone, North Carolina. Housed in the Beasley Media Complex, AppTV serves the Department of Communication, the Appalachian State campus and the High Country community through the development of original programming. From sports to news, video games to late night sketch shows, and everything in between, there is something for everyone on AppTV.
Our programming seeks to showcase the highest standards of creativity and professionalism, while also providing students the opportunity to grow, learn, experiment, and find their voice. This is done through content and execution that strengthens the bond between the university, Boone and North Carolina's High Country. Our mission is to be the go to outlet for news, information, and entertainment for our community.
AppTV shows are produced, researched, written, and edited by students, offering a hands-on learning experience for Mountaineers interested in
a career in any element of television production. AppTV is available on Skybest channel 20 or 1020, Spectrum-Charter channel 198 and on campus channel 23-3. For out of area viewers, all content is also available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@AppTVYouTube
